The Beginning
Our FamilyDo you think having a water sports business was destined to be? My wife Maureen and I have grown up in the Tuckerton area around water and docks. My very own heritage dates back to the local settlers of Tuckerton. Many local people learned to earn a livelihood on the bay with its abundant resources. My Great Grand Father was known locally for his work in Blacksmithing and creating tools such as clam rakes to harvest clams and special horseshoes fitted for the horses to walk along the shore and harvest salt hay. Salt hay was used for many purposes, most commonly, furniture upholstery and insulation. 3M eat your heart out! Our desire remains strong to continue our family tradition and provide our visitors the values and tools to enjoy an ultimate family experience on the water. Full CircleYes, the marina located at 500 Great Bay Boulevard has come full circle. The NJDEP Green Acres Program has purchased the property. The benefit of public access for visitors to the area is evident while traveling over the first bridge. This is an exciting legecy for the Draper family to finally convert a property once used as a marina and tourism destination, to continue that tradition as a public property with environmental protection for generations to come! |
